I'm delighted to welcome you to Guérande, in my gîte whose architecture is reminiscent of a salorge, a salt storage area emblematic of the exceptional site of the Guérande salt marshes.
This comfortable gîte is ideally located, just 500m from the ramparts of the medieval town, listed as a Town of Art and History. Guérande is located in the heart of "white gold" country, in historic Brittany.
The medieval town, which is very lively in high season, welcomes you to its charming little streets. Its beautiful market offers local produce.
In the heart of the salt marshes, a listed and protected site, you can watch the traditional salt harvest from May to September, a real spectacle in a peaceful setting.
As you stroll through the labyrinth of salt marshes, you'll often come across herons, egrets, avocets, shelducks and other marsh birds in this fragile yet beautiful area.
Near Guérande, you'll discover the ports of La Turballe and Le Croisic, the beaches of La Baule, Le Pouliguen and Mesquer-Quimiac, the small towns of Piriac and Le Croisic, and the Brière and its canals.
I'm delighted to be able to share with you the richness of the region and the beauty of its sites.
