Practical information for your stay

Guarantee pôt (deposit) on arrival at the gîte

An inventory of fixtures will be made by the owner of the gite (or his representative) at the beginning and end of the day, in your company. Check the state of the accommodation with him/her to avoid any disputes. Any loss or deterioration will give rise to compensation.

If the deposit has not been collected by Gites de France de Loire-Atlantique, the owner will ask you for a deposit on the spot (amount indicated on each accommodation sheet on our site)

If you have settled the balance of your stay by credit card with the Gîtes de France Loire-Atlantique settlement service, a bank imprint will be retained and you will not have to give anything on site. This will be indicated on the first page of this document.

If you have settled your balance by bank card through the Gîtes de France Loire-Atlantique payment centre, a bank imprint will be made. This will be indicated in your contract.

Supplementary charges:

Utilities (water and gas) are included in the rental price (unless otherwise stated).
Electricity charges are included up to a maximum of 8 kwh/day, beyond which the extra charge will be billed at the current rate based on actual consumption, off-peak and peak hours, if not included in the rental price. A meter reading will then be taken by the owner in the presence of the tenant on arrival and departure.
Heating charges are not included in the price (unless otherwise stated).

Day tax:

Some communes or communities of communes have introduced a "taxe de séjour": in direct rental, enquire with the owner to find out the terms and conditions (amount, duration, reductions and exemptions). If your booking took place on our website or with our booking service team, the day tax has been paid and you will not have to pay anything on site.

Without having subscribed to the swimming package, the latter must be done in full by the tenant before departure. If you have subscribed to the cleaning package, you will not have to clean the entire accommodation, only the dishes will have to be washed and the bins emptied. On your behalf, the owner or his representative will check the general condition of the accommodation. In the event of failure to keep the accommodation clean, you may be charged for any swimming time required.

Linen : Blankets (or duvets) are provided, but the tenant must bring sheets and household linen (unless otherwise stated in the gite description). Some owners can rent sheets, towels and household linen at the following guide prices:
- Sheet hire: from 5 euros per person
- Towel hire: From €5 for 2 towels, 2 bath sheets, 2 gloves
- Linen hire: From €7 for napkins, tablecloth and tea towels (quantity depending on capacity of the gite).

You can book the bed linen and swimming package services with the Réservation Service when you book your gîte.

About your contract:

- Capacity: the contract is for a specific number of people. If this number is exceeded, either on arrival or during the night, the owner may refuse the additional guests, break the rental contract, or charge a surcharge.

- Rates : they are indicated in each description and correspond to the overall cost of renting the gîte. The price is per week (from Saturday afternoon 4pm to Saturday morning 10am) or per weekend (excluding school holiday periods). Outside school holiday periods, many gîtes now offer short stays and arrivals outside Saturdays.

- Réservation fees : on each rental contract are listed a réservation fee which is 35 € for gîte contracts and 5€ in hôtes rooms.

- General terms and conditions of sale : cancellation conditions due to the customer, the vendor, interruption of séjour, etc.

- Optional cancellation insurance will be offered on the contract. It represents 5.5% of the rental price and allows you to be reimbursed, with proof, in the event of cancellation before the day of departure, if your cancellation meets the conditions (accident, illness, etc.). - Tenant's liability insurance : find out from your usual insurance company and check whether your policy covers any damage that may be caused to the tenant. If not, take the necessary steps to remedy the situation. The owner will ask you for a certificate.

- Modes of settlement : our Service Réservation accepts payment by chèque, Chèque Vacances, Chèque Vacances Connect bank card, virement, cash, for all accommodation.

If you do not yet have your Chèques-vacances at the time of booking : once your booking has been paid in full, you can send your Chèques Vacances ANCV® together with this refund voucher, up to 1 month after the end date of the holiday, by registered post with acknowledgement of receipt to the central reservation office. The central reservation office will then proceed with the corresponding reimbursement of your Chèques Vacances ANCV® within the limit of the total cost of the holiday according to the procedure.

- Disputes : any complaint will only be taken into account if it is made to the Relais départemental des Gîtes de France® within 3 days of your arrival at the gîte (date as postmark). The relay only takes place if the rental has been the subject of a Gîtes de France® contract. In the event of persistent disagreement, disputes may be submitted to the Service Qualité of the Fédération Nationale des Gîtes de France, which will endeavour to reach an amicable agreement.

- Pets : some gîtes accept pets, with or without a supplement (rate per day and per pet). The rate is shown on the description sheets accompanying the contracts issued by Service Réservation, and on the Internet

As certain errors in descriptions or pricing may have crept in, only the information given on the contracts and descriptive sheets attached to them should be taken into account.
